The Triple Mortise and Tenon Template makes three evenly spaced mortises and tenons using the same template and setup. It is designed for 1-inch wide M&T X 1/4”, 3/8” or 1/2”. The main advantage to the Triple is for use when boards intersect at a 90° angle and where your design is to keep both pieces vertical.

The depth of cut is limited by your router bit so if your bit has a shank larger in diameter than the cutting diameter, your tenon can only be as long as the stated cutting length. For instance, a standard 3/8” bit with a 1/2” shank has a cutting length of 1.25”. To cut a deeper mortise and tenon, use the 3/8” X 3/8” shank bit so you can take two cuts to make the mortise and tenon greater than the bit’s 1.25” cutting length.
