Making Krenov-Style Sawhorses using the PantoRouter™
We used draw-bored mortise and tenons to join the vertical side pieces to the bottom or foot pieces then we joined the stretcher to the sides with our diamond and bowtie shaped mortise and tenons.
Just for fun, we made some decorative plugs for both shapes and we wedged the diamond for additional strength.
We cut the bridles at the top using a very handy method that’s fully adjustable for a perfect fit.
Our new Bowtie and Diamond templates are fun to use and give add a little flavor to the project.
We embellished the tenons using contrasting colored dowels and we slotted the Diamond for a wedge to add additional strength.
We made the dowels from scrap walnut three at a time using our Dowel Templates
We built an add-on to use the sawhorse as a support for longer pieces on the PantoRouter™ table. It too is adjustable for an out of level floor.
This was a fun and easy project and would be an excellent first project on the PantoRouter™ since it uses many of our favorite features.
Happy PantoRouting!
