Project Description
Accessory art table
Tell us how you used the PantoRouter in this project
I used the panto router to cut all of the mortise and tenon joints for the leg assembly, front and rear face frames, side face frames and mortises for the bread board ends for the shelf.
Special Materials or Equipment Used
Used standard wood working equipment and hand tools. The wood used for the leg assembly and shelf is gumwood (aka French Walnut). This wood was used during the 20's (1920) as a trim material for housing in the Rochester NY area. It was used for door and window trim, cabinets, fireplace mantles and doors. I was fortunate to stumble across a small amount in a local lumber yard and couldn't wait to dig into it. Back in the 70's I would pick this wood up on the streets as people would throw it out during their remodeling projects. I would then take it back to my modest workshop strip and sand it and make small woodworking projects out of it. The table top is walnut with a coffee and gold metallic epoxy river.
